Help improving

Hi everyone
Recently I took the GRE exam and I failed miserably at it. I knew my vocab was terrible but as a master engineering graduate I thought I could at least get 160 quant but I got a miserably 150. I feel so disappointed with myself and wanted to do the 2 month plan in a month as I have almost 8+ hours of free time? Is this good to improve my score from 290 to above 310 considering my background ?

Hey there -
Unless you have a deadline coming up, I don’t think you should rush prep. Even if you have 8+ hours of free time, investing all of it in prep can feel draining.
My suggestion for your next attempt would be to add some variety to what you do with your free time. If you genuinely feel like giving yourself more time to practice, I respect that but at the end of the day, GRE prep’s just a part of your life. As important as it is, the score isn’t always an accurate reflection of your hard work.
This doesn’t mean it’s pointless - all I’m trying to say is that sometimes we put too much pressure and value on that part of our life that we neglect other things. Besides prep, what do you do to rejuvenate and replenish your energy? What are some things you enjoy that you’d like to indulge in before grad school? What’re some things you can do for yourself that make you feel good? It could be working out, some downtime to read a good book, an hour of entertainment.
I know this is easier said than done, and might sound counterproductive - but I don’t think you’re lacking in your efforts for the GRE. You can always practice more questions to boost your confidence. Just remember to take care of yourself in the process too.
Hope this helps. : )
