Source of the question- The Fourth Edition of the “The Official Guide to the GRE General Test”, Unit 4, Set 6- Reading Comprehension Questions: Hard
For Q4, the answer according to the answer key is A, B, C, which means all are correct. However, I take issue with the justification of option B. I agree with the fact that sunlight enters the greenhouse even after two layers of roof, but I do not see any evidence that the entry of sunlight into the greenhouse is to “make the plants grow”.
If someone says that can be inferred, since what else is sunlight needed for, or how will the plants grow without sunlight, I would say that’s storytelling. I don’t know what you are talking about if I stick to the word of Zeus here (Spoiler- I know what photosynthesis is, but I don’t want to use that knowledge). There’s no mention about this, and maybe there is some source of light placed inside the greenhouse that could play the role of actual sunlight, which helps in the plants’ growth. We don’t know if we stick to the paragraph, right?
Any help/guidance on this doubt would be appreciated. I want to know what I missed/overdid/left, or am I correct?
