I recently took the GRE (first attempt, 3 days ago) and scored 157Q, 145V. I had prepared for around 2 months using third-party resources. While my math fundamentals are solid, I struggle with time management in the quant section. Verbal is where I have the most difficulty, even though my vocabulary is decent—I’ve learned over 1000 GRE words in my prep. Despite being familiar with many words, I find it hard to apply that knowledge when solving verbal questions.
I plan to retake the GRE on November 15th, and my goal is to score 320+. I’ve decided to follow the GregMat+ one-month plan diligently. I’m wondering if this plan will be enough to help me reach my target score, especially in verbal, or if there’s something else I should consider adding to my prep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Please share your scores for these with us. You should do these untimed, slowly and carefully using paper, the only thing you can’t do is google things or look at your notes.
This would help us better determine what we should do for Quant.
Thank you so much for the response!
i watched both the videos thoroughly and completed all the quizzes you provided
Following are my scores on all the quizzes:
Quants:
Arithmetic - 28/50
Algebra - 20/36
Coordinate Geometry - 16/38
Geometry - 36/44
Data 1 - 18/30
Data 2 - 12/15
Verbal:
For the vocab check, I included all the groups as all the vocab practice I had done till now was not from GregMat.
16/30
22/30
20/30
25/30
24/30
21/30
19/30
20/30
17/30
19/30
Clearly there’s many aspects which need to improved .
Please take a look at these scores and let me know what steps I should take.
At the same time, I’ve started with the one month plan and will be sticking to it till my exam.
It seems like you’re lacking in the first key for both Quant and Verbal.
Your best bet is to go through the overwhelmed plan and rebuild the foundation/vocab taking a lot of care to ensure you make time for the memorisation so you don’t forget this stuff.
That yes - so either the I’m Overwhelmed study plan and then the 1-month study plan, or the 1-month plan in itself would be needed. Strategies are also important.
