How to do this questions by MATH strategy?

I tried doing it by MATH strategy but failed to get the right response. I was successful in eliminating C,D and E.

How i applied Math Strategy (steps)

Unfortunately = -ve (contrast)

“damaging attacks on the ramification” = he doesn’t support the change → NO SUPPORT = -ve thing

Therefore using math strategy, we get “+ve” in the blank, ie SUPPORT → hence i feel supplement was the answer, but I am wrong :frowning: . Please help me out . I cant do apply grammar strategy therefore i use math strategy.

The math strategy you are applying is slightly flawed as
Unfortunately “damaging attacks on the ramification” in a whole is a negative thing = he doesn’t support the change → -ve

Now comes the blank …

Now a positive thing his whole heartedness in accepting the assumption. so a +ve thing

This means we need a negative thing in the blank. either Undermined or wasted but wasted means to use in excess, so diverted is the best option .
