First find angle BED. Then area of shaded region = area of part of circle - area of triangle.

So would the area of part of circle be found by area of a sector formula?

You mean ar(EBD)? You can indeed use the area of a sector formula, once you know what \angle BED is.

yes, so hypothetically speaking if r=4. We know that angle BED is 60 so would we do 60/360*pi(4)^2 to get the area of the sector? And then subtract the area of the sector and the area of the triangle BED to get the area of the shaded area?
