I choose too many numbers as test cases cause I'm not confident. Any advice?

I’ve gotten much better at knowing when to use the ‘choosing numbers’ strategy.

The problem is I choose way too many numbers; I do like three or four, sometimes five test cases. I think it’s cause I want to cover ALL my bases, and I’m pretty unsure of myself and my work and my arithmetic.

The thought process is something like, “Ok looks like it’s definitely A, but what if I’m missing one of those tricky cases, so lemme try some more numbers, this time bigger extremes, or zero, etc.” Maybe the problem is I’m not using enough logic and am relying too much on the practice of choosing numbers?

So I end up spending WAY too much time on problems. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how/when to just move on and trust your work and trust your logic?
