I took my PrepTest1 and got Q-147 V137

I took my PrepTest1 and got Q-147 V137 feeling absolutely horrendious. Skipped one verbal section alltogather by mistake. IDK feeling hopeless jeez this test is hard. I have a goal of hitting 320 which seems impossible now.

I’m kinda in the same boat as you right now but with a slightly better verbal. First and second exam scores were 287 and 288. Doing practice tests, I’ve been getting a max of 288.

Hey there -
I’m sorry to hear how you’re feeling - I can only imagine how disheartening it must feel. And whatever the mistakes - it’s okay for now.
.
The first test isn’t always an accurate analysis of your skills; it’s a diagnostic to experience what it’s like taking the test and learn from in review. Yes, it’s not the best score but what questions did you miss? What concepts can you recognize from the questions that you need to work on? What are your takeaways from this test? It hurts to be honest with yourself and understand your mistakes but that’s how you improve in the long run. I mean - how can you improve if you’re unwilling to put in the work for areas you’re weak in?
.
If you’re following one of the plans (one-month or two-month), then they’ll be covered over the course of time. If you’re choosing to focus on independent topics due to a lack of time, you can watch the GregMAT videos on those specific topics which include recordings of Greg solving a question in Recorded classes (you can find them in the Members Area).
.
Lastly, this is not a permanent score (also, since you accidentally skipped an entire section, this is actually out of 320). There’s lots of room for improvement here, and it will take some time to improve. What you need is patience; to have faith in the process that’ll help you achieve your goal of 320. And that process begins with a review of what went wrong on this test.
.
As long as you begin from here - there’s hope. As long as you show up and work on your preparation, there is hope. But if you give up and stay where you are without reflecting or making any effort - then it’ll only seem more impossible.
.
I’m aware that this is a kind of serious tone for a reply, and I apologize for that. It’s okay if you’d like to take the time to work through the emotions before resuming prep. At the end of the day, exams and studying are just a part of life and there’s so much more to it than a good score. Finding the right balance while prioritizing prep is also important and you understand that through experimenting - most of us figure things out along the way.
.
I hope this helps, and good luck!
