I have read many reddit posts mentioning that the GRE at home is much harder than the one in the testing centers. I know is probably anecdotical, but I would like to know your opinion
Both testing locations presented the same level of difficulty test wise , however, the experience differed slightly. I had to travel for an hour and a half to reach the center, which meant I had to leave early. But once I arrived, I only needed to focus on the test. On the other hand, taking the test at home(I gave it at my office), presented more challenges. I had to arrange a private meeting room, ensure that no one would disturb me, and rearrange my desk as the proctor required a clear view of the door. Thus, the at-home option required more effort on my part.
My personal advice is to \Huge{\text{block the subreddit r/GRE}} until you’re done with GRE or only use it for asking questions. The subreddit is a source of negativity as people vent their frustrations and it does not accurately reflect the experiences of all GRE test takers. Those who are content with their scores rarely participate in discussions, leading to an abundance of negative threads discussing how the GRE quant section is harder than before, or expressing disappointment with low scores despite extensive preparation.
Also, if you want to do a scrolling activity that is beneficial to you as well as give you a similar headache/ frustration as reading post on r/GRE then I would suggest doing vocab lists! You’ll be surprised on how frustrating it can be to remember words when you’re not using them daily
