Hi all, in this video (at 03:48 - screenshot with transcript above), Greg argues that the two pulls (with or without replacement) are independent events.
Why is that the case when, in “no replacement,” it is evident that the first pull affects the second pull and, hence, the “do not influence each other” condition of independent events is violated? I understand that in the video, Greg compares the second pull to a pull out of a new bag of 9 marbles, but this still feels unconvincing to me, given that it was the first pull that changed the total number of marbles from 10 to 9.
Additionally, this separate math material seems to argue that the two pulls without replacement are dependent events.
I’m not sure what I might have missed. Thank you in advance for your help!
