In this video, Greg says that the interquartile range of 1,2 is 1. Doesn’t “Quartile” mean dividing numbers into 4 groups? If so, then how can 1,2 have Q1 and Q3 value. I assumed the interquartile range to be 0 in this case.

Different definitions lead to different answers, but if we define Q_1 to be the median of the first half of the data sets, then it is clear that it is 1. A similar notion leads to Q_3 = 2
which is the right way?
