Do I need to be familiar with the conventions used in USA, UK or will that be given as part of the question in GRE test?

You’re expected to be familiar with the international number system and the fact that a dollar is equal to 100 cents. However, you are not expected to be familiar with pounds, inches and imperial/USC measurements; any necessary conversions will be provided.
