Could anyone answer this question with an explanation, please?
Focus on the last sentence. It says that no independently owned stores sell gerbils. The previous sentence says that any store that sells TF also sells Gerbils.
This means that no store sells TF and Gerbils!
Now, TF is a subset of EB. So, any store that sells TF is bound to sell EB also!
Simplify into three conditions of the gameā¦
All stores:
#1 mostly when EB, then TF.
#2 if TF without EB, then ALWAYS G.
Independent stores:
#3 NEVER G.
I looked at the answer choices and crossed out answers that violated the rules (or were nonsense) until I found one that worked.
D. Because #3 is true, then #2 is not possible.
*This is the only answer that follows the logic of the question.
Thank you both, unfortunately I still do not understand the logic.
For option D, I guess there are stores that sell TF but not EB. So, how can it be correct?
What about B? I end up chossing it.
