Manhattan 5lb Fractions and Decimals doubt

  1. x is a digit in the decimal 12.15x9, which, if rounded to the nearest hundredth, would equal 12.16

Quantity A: x
Quantity B: 4

According to the solution, x can be 5,6,7,8,9; all of which are bigger than 4 and therefore A is the correct answer

However can’t x also be equal to 4, as 12.1549 would round to 12.155 and thus 12.16 when rounded to the nearest hundred. By that logic, shouldn’t the answer be D?

By assuming x=4, you are rounding up the tousandth place. The question is asking to round up the hundredth place one time and find 12.16. It happens only when x>4.
Hope it helps.
