Maths Strategy Doubt

Lowell’s latest, ironically titled First Impressions , deftly walks a tightrope of _________ that prevents his argument from veering into _________; still, several of the chapters strike a notably _________ tone not present in his earlier books.

as “ironically” is used for contrast so first blank should be opposite of “First Impressions” such as something happened before so it should be “bias”

but when i show the solution “ironically” has been completely ignored instead directly focused on the “that” why ?

**but, when I looked at the solution, “ironically” was completely ignored, and instead the focus was placed directly on “that.” Why is that?

@ganesh

Where is this question from?

I can’t see the answer choices

@ganesh

I think the “ironically” is actually causing a contrast with the last part of the sentence.

titled First Impressions [Ironically (-)] strikes a _______ tone.

So B3 should be something that contrasts the idea of making a good first impression.

The “deftly” tells you hat B1 should be something positive so you shouldn’t use the “ironically” there.

But you should avoid practicing with GregMat questions and use ETS material instead

Sure, @ganesh . Is there any specific reason not to practice Gregmat?

Also, how did you realize that it contrasts with the last sentence? How could a layperson figure that out?

Because while we try our best, the questions will not be as good as ETS verbal in terms of logic and fairness. Same goes for other third party sources.

Like I said, the “deftly” is telling you its not gonna be blank 1
