I was watching the “Verbal - Misc double trouble video”. (week 3, day 5 of the two month study plan.)
Greg says “trifling” means small. But according to google it means “unimportant” and small is not a synonym there.
So, how is trifling a better choice in the question attached?
Hello, This is a double possibility one. The best thing that comes to our mind is the gaps could either be big/small but this does not mean that the answer has to be exactly small. Trifling means of minor importance/value. Maybe what you are saying is correct that trifling does not exactly equal small but we have to look the context. I mean think as he thinks of this question:
If the gaps are not of minor value, can’t we say that the gaps are of ‘big’ value?
