How to solve the third blank

I kno cool head means calm but then i feel adaptable means calm

I didnt kno the logic to apply for this

Imperturbable is probably the best answer for the second question. Adaptable sounds good but it isn’t as fitting to cool head as imperturbable.

sounds good? We dont usually go with the sound right

Using Greg’s math strategy (which uses support and contrast), the answer to the second question should be imperturbable. Because we have cool head during a crisis (+) ; (+) , so now we need something positive which is a synonym for “calm and composed under stress” the first three are nowhere near. Although adaptable sounds good, imperturbable means staying calm during times of crisis.

Applying the same logic, sarcasm and mockery (-) but(-) , we need positive words similar to serious. This brings us to the profound last second option.

thank you so much

Do u know about the 1st one (1st question)

I’m not sure so didn’t post it, but here’s the approach I took to solve the first question.

Empires traverse ___ trajectory; the adversity present in ___ civilization gives rise to dominant militaries, territorial expansion and vast wealth;

over time, success breeds ____, the empire ultimately collapsing under its own weight.

In the first blank, I focused on “adversity” which helped me narrow it down to idiosyncratic.
Now for second blank, I looked at “trajectory”, I chose budding, which is rising or developing.
The third blank, I focused on “collapsing under its own weight”, which literally translates to complacency

edit - final answer an idiosyncratic, a budding and complacency

Thanks a lot :smiley:
