How to solve this? the easy way.

Is the answer A?

% of e1 in A = 5/8
% of e1 in B = 1/3
% of e1 in new alloy = x
\frac{x - \frac{1}{3}}{\frac{5}{8} - x} = \frac{4}{3}
3x - 1 = 5/2 - 4x
7x = 7/2
x - 1/2
Ratio of e1:e2 = 1:1

Picking nos. is easy for me
Take 40:30 for ex

Thus in A Element1 is 5/8 of 40 ie 25 and in B Element1 is 1/3 of 30 ie 10
Total is 35parts of Element1 in a mix of 40+30 ie 70parts

Thus Element1:2 will come out to be
Ratio is 35:35 or 1:1

You could add up for E2 as well just to crosscheck (15+20 = 35)
