Mock Test - Average and Triangle

Over here why they didnt consider a right angle triangle why only equilateral is considered

Should I solve each option and check

What assumptions shud I make here apart from choosing the sum of the second and third no

Over here I converted it to an algebraic eqn but I dont get the ans
22* 5 + n * 2 = 74
where n is the no of boxes

They aren’t considering equilateral triangles in the first place. What the given information shows is that there is one angle that has to be less than 60 degrees, which is opposite to the shortest side of the triangle.

Let the three numbers be a, b and c, where a < b < c. We know that a = 18 and a + b + c = 111. This means that b + c = 93. b can be at most 46 and has to be at least 19 (i.e, less than c and greater than a). Use this to reason on the range of c.

Given that Miguel, Janice and Thad scored higher than the mean, our goal would have to have the others score as high as possible (as otherwise the mean would quickly go below 180).

There appears to be a typo - it should be “staplers”, not “staples”.

With that in mind, the key confusion I see is that 22 staplers mean that the store sold a combination of individual staplers (which cost 5), and boxes of staplers (which I presume contain a certain number of staplers). With that in mind, let p and q be the number of individual and boxed staplers brought respectively. We have

p + q = 22 and
5p + 2 q = 74

Solving this gets p = 10 and q = 12.

In my opinion, this is a badly written question as the scenario presented appears to be illogical and confusing.
