Hello,
In the solutions video for Algebra Quiz #2 in the “I’m Overwhelmed” study plan, Greg says that ∣x∣+1=y is not a linear equation because x in the absolute value does not have an exponent. But, what about the y value?
Thanks

The reason it’s not linear is because of the absolute value around x, which changes the shape of the graph. Y is fine on its own. It’s how x is used that makes it non-linear.
