Hello!
I always get flummoxed while solving the multiple-select questions in RC. This is specifically for the hard problems. I follow all of Greg’s strategies in RC- simplification, function, and the car method- but I am not confident about these kinds of questions, especially when they are inference ones. So I invest a lot of time in them and get it right maybe 50% of the time. For reference, I gave the 2nd free practice test by ETS and the only questions I got wrong in RC were these. Is there some foolproof strategy to solve them? Thanks!
Can you show an example of such a question please and your approach?
Sure,
So these were 2 questions I encountered in my PowerPrep exam 2 that were multiple select and I got wrong. For both questions, I didn’t select the 2nd option. With the answers that I didn’t choose, my reasoning behind not choosing them was that “it was correct but not answering the question asked” and “it required outside knowledge to answer this question” respectively.
And generally speaking, I am not confident answering these questions, especially under a time constraint. Please help!
Can you email me? ganesh@gregmat.com . I can send you a walkthrough with my approach to both of these passages, maybe seeing those can help you out.
