Hi
My GRE is scheduled for 16th October at 2 PM. With just 40 days left, I’m now in full prep mode. I’m aiming for at least a 310.
I gave my first ETS PowerPrep timed practice test 2 yesterday and got:
Verbal: 143
Quant: 155
My study progress so far:
Verbal: 6 groups of Verbal Mountain completed; only 2–3 videos from your 1-month plan done
Quant: Arithmetic and Algebra done; other chapters still to be revised
AWA: Haven’t properly referred to this yet
Based on the above prep, I gave my first mock yesterday. I have a few doubts and would appreciate your guidance:
- The test felt relatively simple and straightforward compared to what we usually discuss in classes. With proper prep, I feel I can handle it. How close is this practice test to the actual GRE in terms of difficulty?
- Quant: I think I’ll be fine once I revise the remaining chapters.
- Verbal: I struggled with RCs and misunderstood many questions since I haven’t gone through all your videos yet. What’s the usual approach here? Should I complete all verbal groups and videos first before practicing questions? Also, if I finish all 34 groups, will that be enough to ace TC and SE, or is there more I need to focus on?
- AWA: I haven’t focused on it much yet. Can you suggest what’s most important to practice and how to approach it effectively?
After analyzing my answers today, I feel comfortable with Quant - the only mistakes were in topics I haven’t touched yet. However, Verbal was challenging, especially RCs, and I’m unsure how to improve efficiently. I assume your approach will help once I go through the videos.
With just 40 days left, I’m thinking of taking a mock every weekend. Could you suggest which mocks are most important to take? Should I go through all your videos first and then move to official ETS/Manhattan prep resources, or is there a better approach?
I’m a bit confused about how to plan my prep going forward and which resources I must complete before my exam. Your guidance would really help me structure my study effectively.
All important links to resources, videos, practice questions, and books would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to overwhelm myself with multiple resources at this point, so I’d love guidance on the best approach to maximize my prep over these remaining days and give the exam my best shot
Thank you so much for your support!
