Hey everyone! I gave the GRE yesterday, and I ended up scoring a total of 305, with 148 in Verbal and 157 in Quants.
For my program- I need to atleast a 165 in Quants and 150 in verbal.
Quants:
I know I missed 160 in quants this time- thanks to a tricky Data interpretation problem- and ran out of time solving it.
For the remaining questions that I missed out on-
I knew how to solve most of them- but I did not have the time to solve them… (They were the lengthy ones that I left for the end)
How do I fix this?
For verbal: I’m going to try to remember the word lists this time- but I really had a hard time doing this- and sort of
gave up last time. Any tips to remember the words? I also face a problem with the reading passages- where I understand the main idea of the passage and dumbing it down to simpler terms-
but get hella confused while selecting the options- They all feel so similar- and I get them wrong. I feel this is what went wrong this time in the actual exam too.
For practice: What do I do? Do I go through Gregs- revised 1 month plan? Do I do something else? Or do I do only specific parts of the 1 or 2 month plan?
In maths- Its the harder questions I dont have time for to solve in the exam. I end up missing about 6 Questions per section- and hence resulting in 157 on the actual test, PPP1,3.
For Verbal: The same question again. I’m thinking about Just going through all the strategies once more- and then Just do problems from the big book- that are mentioned in Gregs 1month plan.
Or do I do something else too?
Next comes the question of practice papers: I have finished PP1,2 and PPP1,3. I feel doing these again might give me inaccurate scores- because when I attempted PP1 the second time-
I ended up scoring 169 on the quant section- which was clearly inaccurate of the real capability. And I do feel the level of questions of PP1 (quants) are vastly inferior to that of the real exam.
PPP1,3 were much more accurate.
I plan to re take around End of May/ early June. I want to take a break of two weeks- So I wont be starting immediately
