Hey i just joined and i plan to take GRE in mid Aug(few dates are available which are convenient for me) or Sep, I started two months plan. Give me some tips on how to approach the prep, how to practice better,
started GRE prep in mid May, my PP1 score 297.Q153 V144, I am not a native speaker, My goal is 315+.
I have done some of quant practice from Manhattan 5lb
Baron’s 800 words (i know around 200).
Any tips are appreciated.
Btw I work around 48 hours per week at a power plant(i work in shifts i.e. morning, nights).

Hi there! A couple of suggestions!

  1. I’d recommend analyzing your PP1 answers first. Try to identify specific areas of improvement- you can review Greg’s Power Prep walkthroughs for detailed solutions. For eg if you find that your vocabulary is not upto the mark or if your geometry concepts are not strong, you can spend more time on these over the next few weeks.
  2. In addition to the above, I recommend following the 2 month plan and sticking to official material for now.
  3. You can give another mock after 2 months and see where you stand- if you have specific questions about how to modify the study plan you can sign up for the Coffee with Greg/Beer with Greg sessions that happen every week. They are quite helpful but do ensure you sign in to the class 10 min before if you want your question answered by Greg.
  4. You can download the anki app to note down all the difficult words you encounter and review the flashcards everyday for 15 mins.
  5. Keep an error log (physical/excel) and write down all your errors (along with details like question number, question type, concept tested, reason for making the error) etc and solve those questions again periodically.
    All the best!
