NO improvement in RCs ! Frustration is at its peak!

I attempted to complete my error log after one and a half months of practise, but I kept making the same mistakes. My exam is in a month and I don’t see any progress. What should I do? Is there any way to solve this problem???

I think your not really changing the way how you approach the RC questions. Just set up a 3 min timer per passage about finding the main idea in the Big Book (mark all the important words ) and then compare it with Greg’s Big Book walkthroughs .

I am talking about short passages. I can do easy questions but mostly I get incorrect below 45% big book percentage.

any solid suggestions to improve short RCs ?

For short RC’s its easier to simplify the sentence although you have to do it in a shorter period of time then long RC’s (2mins for short RC and 3 min for long RC’s) . Anyways your aim remains the same , identify the main idea of the passage.

So, overall you should:

  • Be able to go through the passage in 2mins
  • Be able to identify the main idea in one go
  • You can also supplement your initial reading with some short notes
