For the first blanked, I predicted “diligence/ passion for” since we know she is quite diligent and detail-oriented. I did end up selecting (A), which is the right ans.. but do not have a strong logic for it- both reverance for, and curiosity about seem misfits.
But still I eliminated “curiosity about” because we see no evidence of her trying to find new information or know more about the topic. By the sentence, I understood that she is just trying to accurately represent it.
I wanted to confirm what should be the correct train of logic here?
First blank and second blank should mean similar things (or indicate similar qualities). Fastidiousness goes better with ‘reverence for’ which in this context (I’m guessing) means showing almost sacred meticulousness (dramatized for effect).
As far as reverence vs. curiosity, it just comes down to their use of the word “agonizing”, which better supports reverence (she agonizes because she takes it so seriously).
If it was curiosity, I’d expect something more like, “This was clear from her frequent questioning over how to best represent the minute details…”.
