Official Guide- Practice Test 1- Section 3 -Question 6 (breaking down the sentence)

Hey everyone, I’ve already posted this on Reddit, but I thought it might be a good idea to discuss it here as well. :innocent:
I came across a challenging sentence in a practice test and could use some help with the analysis. Here it is:

My understanding is that the word ‘that’ introduces a noun clause that functions as an object for the verb ‘shows’. Within this noun clause, I believe there’s a nested adverb clause starting with ‘when.’ But I want to make sure I’m on the right track! Could anyone help confirm my analysis or offer a different perspective on breaking down this sentence?

By breaking down the sentence do you mean use grammar and stuff ? If yes then , maybe @gregmat can help you because my grammar is pathetic.
and I instead solve it like this :

Orthodoxy ← same idea-> convention

blank ← same idea-> novelty

You’re correct. Well done!

Thanks for your response. I’m just trying to learn from the sentences in the official materials, and unlike you, I love grammar! :smile:
