Maybe I’m overthinking about this but doesn’t the last sentence “it is high art for listeners steeped in rock rather than the classics” fit answer choice A “How it is regarded by listeners who prefer rock to the classics”?
This is author’s opinion
So for the “How it is regarded” questions it has to be explicated stated as third-party opinion instead of the author’s opinion right?
what is the correct answer? at first it seemed like A was correct but the passage’s main point seems to be about Glass’s music itself more than the listeners. Im not sure if this makes sense but It seems like D is correct
The correct answer is E as the question is asking which of the given question we can answer by the information provided in the passage . In line six “…Distinctively his” → by knowing this we can for sure answer that : Whether it has caused certain glass’s work to be derivative in quality ? → No, it hasn’t as Glass’s work is distinctive.
i got confused due to derivative being negative, but your explanation cleared it up. thanks!
A is incorrect because the author did not explicitly state the opinions of listeners who prefer rock to the classics, right?
Yeah, we got no mentioned of listener’s account anywhere and although we got the line: “high art for listeners steeped in rock rather than the classic”, it just means that the listeners are just immersed in rock rather the classic and is not the same as saying they prefer rock over classics
