Why is the answer for the first blank not “exposes”? What is the proof that the information is already out in public, the explanation which OG gives for not choosing “exposes”?
Due to the phrase "account of his… "
Per the definition, account can also mean narration. Since there is no other proof in the sentence that account was reported to public, the sentence has ambiguity. Serling could be sitting with a friend(s) and narrating the event in private or in a close group and exposing based on the her first had experience. I am confused between belies and exposes. AHA! Since exposes make the answer choice ambiguous and is a little strong, better stick with plain, simple meaning - her account contradicts company’s image. Is my reasoning okay?
You’re overthinking it , if you need 3-4 lines to justify your point then its probably storytelling.
That’s what I thought. Thanks!
