OG Verbal Hard Q6

The gaps in existing accounts of the playwright’s life are not (i) blank , since
much of the documentary evidence on which historians have relied is (ii) blank

Blank (i)
A trifling
B obvious
C implicit

Blank (ii)
D credible
E extant
F incomplete

Can someone please explain how to use Greg’s Verbal startegies for this TC?
Thanks in advance

the idea of sentence before the comma should mirror the idea of sentence after the comma(support due to the word ‘since’).Before the comma we have the idea of gaps are not what ? (usually gaps are insignificant thus, In here it will be significant due to the “not” present before the blank). Now, for blank(ii), I will just reuse the word gaps

Hey team, could you explain how this is the case? Isn’t this a case of bringing outside knowledge?
Also, could you let me know if I applied the strategy correctly:

  1. The 2 idea chunks are ‘the gaps…’ and 'much…
  2. The ideas are in support because of comma and ‘since’
  3. I think blank 2 is easier to start with, so the evidence can either be good or bad, or complete/ incomplete (we can also use credible vs incomplete from the options). If we think that it’s good/ complete, then the errors would be minimal/ not exist, so the first double possibility would be ‘blank 1 - major/ existing’ and ‘blank 2 - credible’ (but such a pair doesn’t exist in the options).
The other double possibility pair is the opposite, so ‘blank 1 - minor’ and ‘blank 2 - incomplete’ which gives us the OA A and F

I know that in this particular case, I did not do the connotation → semantic guess according to Gregmat process as I found it particularly hard to find.

Any help is appreciated, thanks
