Hi sorry if this has been asked before but is it weird to think that one has ‘internalized’ the math strategy so well that they no longer feel the need to go through the 4-step process that was recommended in the beginning? I’m referring to the whole process of identifying supports/contrasts and finding clues. I just feel like its easier to “own” the strategy for people who are regular English readers. With the right sentence structure and grammar grasp, I feel like its easier to break down sentences into clues that have the same or opposite signs, without actually assigning the signs to clues one by one.
But I also do still come across questions occasionally where I’m not able to apply the strategy as intuitively. In such cases, how does you know whether the math strategy is probably not that applicable or its you who doesn’t seem to be deciphering the right clues from the 4-step approach that is taught?
