One Month Until GRE: Still Struggling with Verbal

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on Week 7, Day 1 of the two-month GRE study plan. I just finished Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Guide Practice Test 1. Quant is my stronger area, but I’m still struggling with Verbal, even though I’m following the 2024 Verbal videos (non-ETS material).

For TC, vocab isn’t the issue. My main issue seems to be understanding the sentences themselves. In Reading, I usually miss 1-2 questions during the practice sessions or in the Big Book, but I missed several questions on the practice test.

I have about one month until my exam. Would you recommend shifting more of my focus to Verbal at this point? Also, since Quant is starting to feel repetitive, would it make sense to skip the classes and just stick to doing homework?

Finally, for Verbal improvement: would you recommend booking a tutoring session or trying a different video series? I’m currently on Day 17 of Vocab Mountain, but again, my main challenge is sentence structure, not vocab.

Yes. A tutor can follow your thought process and point out where you’re going wrong, refine the strategies you know, etc. More videos won’t help nearly as much.
