So, I have been preparing for the GRE and now I am confused when it comes to GRE quant practice. Which books should I use for Quant practice: 5lb book or Big Book? I think that questions in the 5lb book are more calculation-intensive and don’t check concepts and logic (it is my opinion and it is okay if you disagree). So, what do guys think I should do?
From what I’ve gleaned from being a gregmat member for the last 4 weeks, Gregmat says that the 5 Lb book is fine for practicing quant - you just want to rely on ETS materials for verbal, as the third party books don’t provide the same level of verbal questions as ETS does (I can vouch for that with Kaplan (Craplan!).
In his two month plan, he does instruct students to do the Manhattan 5lb problems as practice.
