How relevant are overlapping set questions prevalent on the GRE? because I am finding it hard to grapple with, and on my practice exams I have been consistently getting the medium second section and was wondering if I would approach those questions in med/hard and what’s the best way to learn the material so that I can master the foundations of overlapping sets
I think, since many overlapping sets questions are word problems, the first thing is making sure you are able to recognize keywords and phrases that indicate an overlapping sets problem. The majority of these problems can be solved by plugging and chugging into a formula: total = A + B - both + neither. Those that cannot easily be solved like this can most easily be solved by drawing a Venn diagram. The best way to master any topic is through repeated practice, so I recommend doing as many overlapping sets problems as you can until you feel comfortable.
