Hello, I just started the two month plan three days ago and am already feeling horribly overwhelmed. It seems like there is a huge jump between what the videos to watch have taught and what the homework and practice problems expect us to know and be able to do. To me, Greg seems to be assuming that we already know quite a bit in order to piece together solutions to complicated problems. However, I was hoping that these early “building block” videos would be explaining the basic concepts first before diving deep. Please tell me that Greg flushes out the “Block of 4” and punctuation topics (in addition to the quant tricks he implements) in future videos, because I have no idea what is going on with those and don’t know if it is because I am stupid or because Greg is introducing us to these deep concepts early, but will flush them out later.
Don’t worry, it took me 3 weeks to somewhat understand and do Text completion and Sentence Equivalence questions on my own.
Regarding the block of 4 part, do you think Greg will make a plan which won’t include his strategies?!
Keep pushing buddy! All the best!!
I always think of GRE as a side job which doesn’t pay and on top of that it even tolls you mentally . Having said that if you got time then you can stretch out the 2 months and customize it acc. to your own time and resources that you have at your disposal. Also, use the coffee hours /beer with Greg sessions and the forums extravagantly to get your doubts and queries clear.
impossible for him to do this for you. You can browse concept videos on site;
tons of basic concept videos there.
not sure what is this lol. You can always use google to clear doubt. As time goes by, you’ll understand most of them.
Thank you for the encouragement, this gives me a glimmer of hope!
Hey I am just starting too. I am 7 days into the 2 months plan, however, I have not found it to be overwhelming yet. So, if you want to have a discussion about the basic quant concepts, or verbal ‘math’ strategy the course has covered so far I’m more than happy to be of help. Since, I’m also in process of reforming my foundation, it would be a good review opportunity for me as well.
Also, I do recommend khan academy. Before starting GRE prep I went through many of the elementary to grade 9 test to see where I might have fallen through in terms of my quant foundation. I was surprised by the amount that I thought I know but not really.
