Can someone elaborate on this question using the piece method?
Poe’s____reviews of contemporary fiction, which often find great merit in otherwise _____literary
gems, must make us respect his critical judgment in addition to his well-known literary talent.
I was watching the lecture in which this question was discussed, and I understood the pieces for all divisions except the one for “otherwise”.
I don’t completely understand what that part of the statement is saying. I can see the contrast from the word otherwise and following the method, I will have to “contrast” the word great. Basically, I want someone to explain what the statement is saying because I thought it was saying that Poe writes great reviews about literary gems, but I couldn’t capture the adjective with it.
