I gave my first attempt at end of April and got a low score of 303 (151Q 152V 4.0 AWA)
I was also busy at work and recently got promoted so I couldn’t keep up with being consistent and had to solve the Manhattan 5lb sections a week before (excuses I know, but just context - did manage to solve everything after taking a week off from work to focus solely on GRE)
I was pretty comfortable at solving all the questions within it and I was cutting low on time so I couldn’t give PP2 or other PP tests besides my diagnostic (of 288 in Feb, I have been working full time for last 4 years and hadn’t touched math in 6)
However, when I retook the GRE last week, I got an abysmal score of 301… which shocked me since I assumed I was doing it correctly and expected 160+ in Q
Most of my foundational quizzes have 80%+
I’m thinking to spend 30 mins/day purely on quant and going through entirety of prepswift. Is this the recommended route? Or should I redo the I Am Overwhelmed instead? Should I ditch verbal prep and focus purely on quant instead? (Applying for MS in Data Science/ Engineering Management programs with 4 years background in former)
I’m planning to apply for Fall '25 programs so I could take GRE at mid/end of Nov and send in my scores after my application.
tldr; score tanked, finished 5lb, my time management skills definitely needs work
Thanks for the quizzes Ganesh, I apologize for the delay in getting back as finding time for all of them were difficult on weekdays so I had to spread it across days whenever I got time.
The following are my scores:
Arithmetic: 43/50
Algebra: 29/36
Coordinate Geometry: 34/38
Geometry: 37/44 (few mistakes around precision)
Data 1: 28/30
Data 2: 26/41
To add onto my earlier scores, some questions definitely took substantial amount of time which would have resulted in me not being able to solve it in a timed test situation should that have been a criteria.
Okay, go through every question you got wrong, go back to the foundations, and figure out why the correct answer is what it is. Let me know once you’ve done that for all the questions that you can answer.
Hi Ganesh, I have gone through the previous errors and understood what I had solved incorrectly.
Especially in the Data2: I definitely had a weak grasp on permutations/combinations and probability. It felt way easier to solve them after going through the videos again.
May I know what should be my next course of action?
