I would like to leave a couple of thoughts below for you guys to ponder upon and see if they make any sense:
Podcasts - I love the Have a Beer with Greg sessions and it’s a really nice way to have some questions answered even before they occurred to me. Is it possible to make the podcasts more available through Apple podcasts, Spotify or Stitcher? I think a lot us don’t have constant/stable connection to stream online during our chores and would really appreciate the ease these apps offer. For example, I could download an episode the night before and listen to it during my run the next day.
Solved questions repository - I think over time it will be difficult to navigate the forums as the number of topics increase and people have their questions answered. To take care of this, can we have a spreadsheet that separates verbal and quant according to their sources (since we’re sticking to official materials only) and after a question is answered, we could store it there so that people in the future can go through it and see if the answer makes sense. If not, they can ask again.
Accountability or Progress tracking - this is a long shot though but some of us really struggle to study without a partner or some form of accountability. Depending on the hours people work or dedicate to the GRE, can we have a google sheet where we log our productivity/things we accomplished for the day? We can have divisions like “people who have a full time job” or “people who are studying for the GRE full time”. I think it might allow us to help each other stay more connected and motivated as a community.
Anyways, the platform would still be amazing even if none of the above came in effect, but I’m just leaving them here as food for thought.
Give a listen to “Have A Beer With Greg - April 30, 2021” and someone says they are struggling with the one month plan and that they are not getting enough time for themselves after doing two live classes per day. So Greg suggests that it’s okay to not watch every single video or do every single activity and that they have to choose what to follow. Not sure if this is the best example, but I hope it helps.
Hi Maverick, first of all, thanks for the suggestions! And we’re glad that you liked the podcasts!
For your first question, we’re not sure yet if we can make the podcasts available on those platforms you mentioned as the primary reason why we put them on the website is because we want to make podcasts exclusively available for Greg Mat+ members.
For the other two suggestions, I’ll forward them to the team for further discussion.
This is not a good idea in my opinion. There are tons of students out there preparing for the GRE. By having these podcasts available to the public, people could avoid misleading information as well as getting to know Gregmat. Win-win strategy to some extent.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Imagine the treasure trove we have here, gregmat+ users are already surrounded by gold. When you consider that, I think most people log in and jump into the dedicated verbal/quant/concept/tips and tricks series, not the podcasts. When you’re done with these, and you want more of Greg at the end of the day and don’t want to use your brain, then you move on to Q/A, or beer/coffee with Greg.
Would you kindly leave a link? I tried searching on Spotify, nothing pertinent came up.
