The last question of GRE Arithmetic assessment asks
"Real numbers encompass which of the following?
-integers
-rational numbers
-irrational numbers
-transcendental numbers like π
-algebraic numbers like the square root of 2
"
The correct answer is all of the above, however a quick google check suggest that there exist transcendental and algebraic numbers that are not real. I interpret the word “encompass” as “be a subset of”, and so the correct answer (as coded in the test) is factually wrong. Did I miss anything?
