Power prep 2 percentages question

Question without context on what the problem is. Have you looked this problem up on the internet?

Can you help me solve this? i can’t seem to understand how the answer is 6.7%.

Let Steve and Patricia’s property tax be S and P respectively. We know that

S = P - 140
S = 1960

Hence P = 1960 + 140 = 2100

You now need to find the percentage difference between 1960 and 2100. That’s

100 \times \left(\frac{140}{2100}\right)

which is 6.7% to the nearest 0.1%.

I can’t believe i was making an addition mistake and constantly arriving at wrong answer. thank you for this.
