firstly, I was not knowing meanings of suffrage and temperance.
So I though it may be some good or bad activity.
Now I see prodigious which I mean enormous or very large

Which means that activity ended very soon and was not enormous.
And I thought inimical is generally used with person who is hostile. But as talking about activity so it will not be answer
Transitory is not really -ve. It means that lasting for a short duration so, it can be anything depending on the context.
