In the first part of the sentence, ‘Far from viewing Jefferson as Skeptical but enlightened individual’
According to Math Strategy, should this be comprehended as Jefferson was viewed as an enlightened individual or, Jefferson was a skeptic?
In the Class recording, the former was chosen. But, I don’t see why jefferson cannot be seen as a skeptic? because the enlightened part is added to the end, it holds more weight?

Look after the blank

I suggest you look after the comma. I don’t think the question bis about what the man is but it’s about what he does. The idea after the comma supports the other half of the sentence. If in the position, I would say ‘dogmatic’ because the idea after the comma refers to someone who is dogmatic.
