Could someone simplify this passage for me? I think I misunderstood it. How does the author imply that Douglass’ move to Rochester was important because the political climate caused more distance b/w Garrison and Douglass i.e. Option C?
Is it option c answer? if yes, then …
1st line --douglas(abolitionist) was previously aligned with Garrison, whose method was not liked by Rochester people. Many abolitionist were frustrated by Garrison method in Rochester, so there ideology and Douglas are same. so both douglas philosophical distance from garrison was reason for him to move ROchester.
If still in doubt , i think greg has youtube videos on PP solution(maybe).
