I understand why the answer is B but why is E wrong?
In the sentence, “Yet the complexities that confront those who would study such materials are not wholly different from those recently surmounted by historians of criminal law in England during the same period,” I interpreted it as the difficulties of civil law are not that much different than the difficulties of criminal law that were recently overcome.
So I take it as both are nearly equally challenging, so the issue is not because of difficulty.
In the video, Greg said that both required mastery, but in the passage, it states the “subject” and civil law, not criminal law, was the one that was previously referenced so I don’t know where Both requiring mastery came from.
Thnx.
