Hi, everyone!

Have trouble with the following question:

-10<x+y<20

5<x<10

A B

y -15

Please help!

Please format the question properly in the future. Anyway, we know that 5 < *x* < 10. Then, let’s take x = 6. Then, if -10 < 6 + y < 20, this implies that -16 < y < 14, that is, y can be -15 or 13. Hence we don’t know much about *y*, and the answer is D.

Thank you!
