Prepswift Quant-Making Deduction Video

I couldn’t fully understand the explanation. What if I weigh first 2 sets of 5 blocks and find out that one of those 2 have the lighter block, and then should I weigh 2 blocks against 3 or what?
Or what if in the 2nd step Greg showed, I don’t identify ithe set of lighter block.

Can anyone help me on this?

No, you would ideally weigh 2 blocks against 2. If you weigh 2 blocks against 3 then you can’t figure out which “group” contains the lighter block, right? It’s not like we have the weights of any of these blocks or anything.

Btw the big idea for this question is to split it as evenly into three groups. The reason we want three groups is because we wish for the scale to give us information on either “>”, “<”, or “=” (three operators).
