PrepSwift Quant Tickbox Quiz #10 (Geometry Column 1)

the answer for this question is wrong, since x+y+z is 2x, then 2x has to be more than 180 as x is already an obtuse angle, the answer should be A

Hello, have you checked if the solution video clarifies your doubt?

yes I did, in fact in the solution video greg said that x+y+z is 2x

What if x was 90 degrees?

@Leaderboard can x be 90 degrees here? I’m not sure what the rules are.

x can be any angle that is greater than 0 degrees and less than 180 degrees.

I was almost going to come and rage the same thing, but Greg’s explanation is just bad. Yes, x+y+z = 2x, which means that x COULD equal 90 degrees. So if x COULD equal 90 degrees, then x+y+z = 180, therefore answer C. But because we don’t know the measure of any angles, therefore D. If we knew any angles, then we could choose between A, B, or C. The drawing’s only purpose is to throw you off.
