PrepSwift Quant Tickbox Quiz #14 Question 9 Doubt

I believe the answer should be ‘A’. Please refer the below image.

Basically, neither >=1 because the question stem says so ‘In a town of 100 households, every family has a son, a daughter, both or none.’, which indicates there will be at least one household with neither a son nor a daughter. So, both > 20.

Thanks

It just states that ‘None’ could also be a possibility.
Doesn’t explicitly say that ‘there is at least 1 household for each of the categories’.
Hence, we cannot assume that there will be at least 1 household with ‘None’

Hence, the answer is D.
(Either equal to 20, or greater)

Thank you for your response.

Okay, then the question should say ‘can’ instead of ‘has’. As per my understanding, ‘has’ does not indicate a possibility but a fact.

Thanks

@Leaderboard Can the question be written a little less ambiguously?

I don’t see the issue with the question. You can have “X” or “Y”.

Okay, noted. I tend to misinterpret these '“X” or “Y” type questions.

Thank you for your response.
