In thePavel’s math, I thought it asked for the probability of one chip and in the second problem, it asked for specific chip as it is written “A Red chip” but the case is completely opposite. When I asked chatgpt, bro told me “#” incidates singular or particular chip while the “a” signifies any kind of chips.I find the explanation weird though I am getting the correct answers following this approach.
Now please tell me the explanation of GPT is correct or not?
Okay, in the first problem(Pavel’s math),I thought the number of black chip and white chip would be
6/12 and 1/11
because they didn’t ask for specific chip
And in the second question,I thought it was supposed to be
1/12 and 1/11
As it is written there “a Red chip"and a Blue chip”
But the cases are opposite! Chatgpt explained to me that first problem asked for specific chip by using #3 and in the second problem “A” in Probability ,indicates any kind of chip not the particular one When I followed it’s advice,my answers got correct. Now would you mind telling me the explanation of GPT is correct?
ChatGPT is right. For the Panvel problem, you need to choose a specific chip (#3), and since there’s only one #3 black chip and one #3 white chip, the probability would be 1/12*1/11.
For the red and blue problem, you can pick any red chip, which has a probability of 6/12. But the blue chip should have the same number as the red chip making its probability 1/11. Total 6/12*1/11.
