What is the shortest way to solve 1/2 + 2/3 + 3/4 + 4/5 + 5/6?
I would just use the calculator. You could also do LCM first if you want. Or if you are familiar with these fractions then you probably know their actual values so you can just add them up.

My way would be
We know 1/2 =0.5
3/4 = 0.75
4/5 = 0.8
so 1/2 + 3/4 + 4/5 = 2.05
and
2/3 + 5/6 = 4/6 + 5/6 = 9/6 = 3/2 = 1.5
2.05+1.5 = 3.55
so the answer is 3.55
