Can someone please walk me through the process!

Let the third line be l

The angle of intersection of l and p be w

y and w would be corresponding angles, thus w = y = 80

The angle vertically opposite x would also be x degrees

So, we get:

x + y + z = 180

30 + 80 + z = 180

z = 70

Thank you! For some reason I was getting tripped up thinking that 30 degrees is the external angle of the triangle formed by the intersecting lines, so then Y+Z should equal 30.

Don’t worry, happens to the best of us

So, you got 80 + Z = 30??

XD

Yes! LOL I think it was the last few problems of the day for me and I just lost all grips on my geometry knowledge.
